Now that I've finished all the pieces for the kids' play quilt, I can't avoid the actual quilting part anymore. I'm just afraid of ruining this lovely creation, since I'm such a newbie at machine-quilting. So far I've quilted the green field (which came out so-so, but it should be okay once I cover it up with the train cars and dolls) and the blue sky (which came out well). Today I'll quilt the borders and then put on the binding, and I'm hoping to have time to put the whole thing together. Our babysitter is back from her summer program (YAYYYYYYY!!!!!!) so I'll be able to get some real time to myself today, the kids will have fun, and I'm sure Marin will appreciate the money.... So I tell myself, anyway -- see, I'm not just being selfish, I'm giving the kids great entertainment and helping Marin, too! Heh.
